Interview With Mr. Chips
Reporter: How was it working at Brookfield?
Mr. Chips: Brookfield is a great place and I enjoyed teaching the children and loved the times I was acting Headmaster. I tried to shape the kids as best as I could to give them a bright future
Reporter: How did you feel having to rise to the occasion 2 times once even leaving retirement to be the acting Headmaster?
Mr. Chips: I felt honored that they thought I was the right candidate to take over, But it was hard adjusting from being a normal teacher to a Headmaster.
Reporter: How did you connect with the boys you taught. How did you get them to love you and be kind.
Mr. Chips: All I did was be sympathetic and compassionate. If students did things wrong instead of punishing them I would put myself in their shoes to see what they need, like extra help to learn the teaching material.
Reporter: How did Katherine your wife influence you, and how did it help with the students you taught.
Mr. Chips: Brookfield is a great place and I enjoyed teaching the children and loved the times I was acting Headmaster. I tried to shape the kids as best as I could to give them a bright future
Reporter: As mentioned a little bit before was it hard coming out of retirement, what did you have to sacrifice to help the school of Brookfield.
Mr. Chips: Leaving retirement to being the acting Headmaster was a difficult choice. In choosing to exit retirement I gave up living peacefully and having no work. I had to work hard which was hard to adapt to considering I was in retirement.
